Bobergsgymnasiet – An International Hub

Bobergsgymnasiet is an international school in spite of its relative smallness. Irrespective of the study programme you choose to follow, you have the possibility to engage yourself in international activities either within your study programme, as a project or as one of the BIV-courses. "BIV" stands for Boberggymnasiet's International Activities. Apart from this, there is also the international students' club BIF.

The Global Classroom Partnership

The basis of most of our international activities is The Global Classroom, which consists of upper secondary schools in Sweden, Scotland, South Africa, Germany, the Czech Republic and Japan. More countries are on their way in.

Every year we have a common theme, which is presented during the annual conference in one of the partner schools. Presentations are carried out in the form of drama, films, posters and PowerPoint. The conference was held in Ånge in 1998 and 2004. Next time will be 2011.

The Global Classroom also has a very active student exchange. All students have the possibility of spending 3-12 months in any of the partner schools.

Learning School
A research project has emerged out of The Global Classroom. We call it Learning School. The research group consists of students (or former students) from the partner schools. Every year, the research group chooses a theme of study, then writes reports from each school and compiles the results towards the end of the school year.

Learning School present the result of their research in the participating schools and also in several universities and ministries. The ultimate goal of Learning School is to create a self-evaluating school. The project is supported by Cambridge University in the UK.

Other projects
Apart from The Global Classroom and Learning School
there is
also a large number of other international projects in our school. Some examples are a cultural exchange with Bolivia, a project with Poland and Germany, work practice abroad for the vocational classes and some different relief projects in collaboration with voluntary organizations.

If you are curious to get to know the world outside Sweden's boundaries, you will have many chances of becoming a World Citizen during your stay at Bobergsgymnasiet.
